Sensitivity of dock autohide feature

Hi all,
I use the autohide option for the lower panel (the dock) to have more screen real estate. Lately I have been frustrated using Gnumeric because every time I try to change tab (at the bottom of the screen) the dock pops out. I know is OS X there is a way of making the dock less sensitive. It only pops out after a chosen amount of time. Is there an equivalent on XFCE?

Re: Sensitivity of dock autohide feature

I wondered about this myself and found these instructions on an Archlinux site:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xf … hide_delay

It involves adding some code to a ~/.gtkrc-2.0 file (i.e. a hidden text file in one's home directory). I had to create a .gtkrc-2.0 file in order to do this. You'll need to restart the panel or logout for the change to take effect. (You can, of course, alter the time: 500ms is pretty good.)

There's more information about the .gtkrc-2.0 file here:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/22840/wh … -gtkrc-2-0

I'm no expert, so I can offer no guarantees. But this seems to work. (If the worst comes to the worst, you can always delete the file, if this is all it has in it.)
