Dist upgrade killed some panel items

I had Places, a clock/calendar, CPU monitor, battery monitor, and xfapplet in my panel. After upgrading from Fedora 14 to Fedora 16 all three have disappeared. Places is still in the drop-down list, but if I add it to the panel it does not appear. The others are no longer in the drop-down list.

What happened? Is there any way to get them back?

Edit: Partially solved. After the dist-upgrade there were dozens of software updates, including quite a number for Xfce. After updating them all the panel items are back and working fine except the Gnome panel applet (xf-applet).

Re: Dist upgrade killed some panel items

I have since been told that the Gnome panel applet (xf-applet) does not work with the current version of Xfce. I don't even know what version I have, and I can't find anyplace that tells me.

Re: Dist upgrade killed some panel items

Maybe "yum info xfce4-panel"... Or "yum list xf\*". Or something smile (I don't use a yum-based distro.)
