Hello all- I'm running Suse 12.1 on a Thinkpad T42. I am having a problem with Thunar and Firefox windows opening at the top of the screen with no visible title bar and the windows being unable to be moved away from the top. In addition, the drop down menus are wonky...I cannot select anything using the mouse (the drop down scrolls as soon as I mouse down onto it) and must instead use the TAB key to select items from the menu.
This is a stubborn problem.
I've tried deleting the apparently relevant XFCE4 file from /.config with no luck. The only way to solve the problem was to delete the account and rebuild it from scratch.
Any suggestions?

You should be able to use alt+left mouse button to move the windows.

Sounds like the window manager crashed. Press Alt+F2 and run:
xfwm4 --replace
...to restart it.

That worked ToZ.
Curious that once the window manager crashes, when the machine is then shutdown, it always restarts in a crashed state...unless the window manager is explicitly restarted w/xfwm4 --replace. Thanks for solving this.

I think it's because Xfce is designed in order to have other windows manager than xfwm4. When you start a session, it will not check if xfwm4 is running or not because it may be the case that your are running another window manager.(eg: metacity).
Anyway, there must be something to do when xfwm4 crash and there is no windows manager running. The user is completely clueless when this happen !!
Xfce is NOT Xubuntu. Bugs in Xubuntu don't mean that Xfce is buggy ...
