I do not see very well anymore and I need a little bit help with desktop settings. How to make menu icons and menu text bigger? I use Xubuntu 12.04 alpha and XFCE 4.8. sincerely Timo
ps. I am ex-GNOME 2 user. I think that there will be more newcomers with XFCE in the future. Sorry simple english.

You can change the font Type and font Size of menus by going in Xfce Settings Manager (xfce4-settings-manager) > Appearance > Fonts > "Default Font"
You can also play with de "DPI" setting.
It will change not only the menu font of Xfce but all gtk's application menu. I don't know how to change specifically the menu font only.
Xfce is NOT Xubuntu. Bugs in Xubuntu don't mean that Xfce is buggy ...

xsettings.xml
<property name="IconSizes" type="string" value="gtk-menu=16,16:gtk-button=20,20:panel-applications-menu=24,24:panel-directory-menu=24,24"/>

Thank you very much wtsch and angstrom. Worktable fonts are bigger now. I needed a little bit help from our native forum how to mod xsettins.xml. It is quite simple - now I know how to do it. As you can see I need quite big icons to see them. I show my xsettings.xml if somebody else need help.
Short how to:
- select in Thunar "Show hidden files"
- navigate as I did /home/timo/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xsettings.xml with Thunar
- open with Leafpad
- copy wtschs code and paste it to line started with <property name="IconSizes" type="string"
- save file
- test menu icons sizes
<property name="IconSizes" type="string" value="gtk-menu=24,24:gtk-button=24,24:panel-applications-menu=32,32:panel-directory-menu=32,32"/>
Now I am very happy with XFCE.

I selected a different font in Appearance > Fonts, but the Whiskermenu fonts didn't change.
