Does Xfce Change OpenOffice Screen Resolutions For The Better?

Seasons Greetings!

Subject line tells it all.

I noticed when using OpenOffice in Xfce 4.6 and Gnome 2.30.2 that OpenOffice's screen resolution is much smoother and crisper in Xfce than Gnome. Is this incidental or does Xfce alter app screen resolutions in positive ways that Gnome doesn't and can I adjust whatever configs concerned to work the same way in Gnome? (I'd constantly use Xfce were not for a few minor annoyances).

Thanks for any hint!

A screenshot is welcome ...
May be you are talking about font hinting and antialiasing ? Try changing settings in Settings Manager > Appearance > Font

Xfce is NOT Xubuntu. Bugs in Xubuntu don't mean that Xfce is buggy ...
