No access to wicd > scripts with Xfce (?)

I've the following problem with wicd and Xfce:

when i try to access to the scripts i'll be asked to give my password to be able to configure and after that nothing happens. This is true on a netbook running Xubuntu 11.10 as well as on a Mac running squeeze and Xfce. The wicd is 1.7.0, Xfce 4.8 (on both).

Any ideas in regard?

PS. Other, under Kubuntu or Ubuntu don't encounter that problem . . . (For the moment, i helped me out adding the scripts manually to the '/etc/wicd/wireless-settings.conf' - but that's not too smart ;-) ).
