Start gvfs-fuse-daemon automatically

Hello, forum! I am running:

Distro: Nixos
Xfce: 4.8

Nixos offers minimalistic Xfce, and I am working on adding gvfs support to it.
My question is: What is the preferred way of starting gvfs-fuse-daemon? Does
any Xfce component aware of it?

Note, that simply running the daemon from session-startup script (or, say,
from .bash_profile) is not good, because user may run into

  .gvfs: Transport endpoint is not connected

on next relogin. One has to shut down the daemon gracefully to avoid this.
