[Solved] placement of new windows

I'm using Xubuntu 11.10

If I open subsequently two thunar windows, they are overlapping at the center of the screen, and if I need to drag and drop something, I also need to move a window.
Since I have a 22" monitor, I'd like to have windows opened on the empty space I have: for example, opening two nautilus window in gnome with the same monitor and window size places them side by side, way more easier.

I've not found a window manager setting, maybe someone can help me with this ?

Play with the smart placement slides in the wm-tweaks dialog.
