two screens have duplicated desktop icons

All,

I'm just getting to know xfce4, so far so good, but: I have dual monitors, each with it's own X session and panels and it's all fine so far except that the desktop icons are duplicated. If I add something to one screen it shows up on the other as well. Can that be fixed?
