artifacts when hiding panel

I'm using xfce 4.8 on xubuntu oneiric; I created an autohide panel, when it gets hidden it creates a small artifacts on the line representing the hidden panel, a black angled line of a couple of pixels width.

Not a big problem obviously, just wanted to ask if somebody else has artifacts like this, and if this is related to some graphics bug I can fix...

Re: artifacts when hiding panel

Yes it's normal to have that line.
I saw some discussion on mailing list or on wiki or on the forum about removing it totally and there is some reason that the line is there.

Xfce is NOT Xubuntu. Bugs in Xubuntu don't mean that Xfce is buggy ...

Re: artifacts when hiding panel

Ok, my first post was unclear :-)
I see a slim line, and this is correct, I've seen those discussions... But the line is, let suppose, light grey, as my theme specify for panels.
Well, in that light grey line I see some artifacts, some black pixels near a corner , those pixels should be light grey like the rest of my panel... Then they disappear when panel is shown, and reappear when panel is hidden again.

It's a minor cosmetic issue, but on a light background they're quite visible, and I was already crying "sigh, there are dead pixels on my lcd" :-)

EDIT: it happens in a vm too, so it should not be hardware-related... BTW, xfce4-panel version is 4.8.6

Re: artifacts when hiding panel

I tried to install Xubuntu 12.04 beta1 , and problem is still there; but doing all the updates proposed after the install, problem disappear.
During that update xfdesktop has been updated, and I think it could be related to this.
So problem has someway been fixed, but I don't know how :-)

Re: artifacts when hiding panel

xubuntu precise:
xfce4-panel 4.8.6
xfdesktop 4.8.3 built with gtk+ 2.24.10

on my desktop (oneiric) I have the same versions, but "built with gtk+ 2.24.6" ...
