Configuring exo-open

When clicking on a magnet link in chromium under Xfce, chromium gets xdg-open to handle the link, and xdg-open in turn invokes exo-open to get the job done. exo-open finally just invokes chromium again, which is not what I want. Is there a way to configure exo-open to launch some specific application when invoked on magnet links? More generally, is exo-open configurable in any way?
