I have successfully built all the core packages in the 4.10pre1 fat_tarball and have installed them on a T410 running Xubuntu x64.
Most things are working OK, but there is no panel, and the settings manager is not working.
Is this the best place to discuss bugs, or is there another area I should report them to?
Thanks to the team for all your hard work.

The panel seems just not to be starting (how can I check for segfaulting?)
I'm not at that machine right now, but as I recall when I go to applicaton menu>settings>setting manager I get a window with a vertical menu. The 5 or 6 text options are divided by horizontal lines. There are no icons in the menu, and clicking on any of the options does nothing. I'll be back at that machine tomorrow and will report back to you with more details if you'd like.

run xfce4-panel and xfce4-settings-manager in a terminal and check for errors.

I just built 4.10 on an HP dv9000 series and it is working fine. I may not have installed thunar-volman on my office pc (I was following the build guidelines here: http://docs.xfce.org/xfce/building, and thunar-volman wasn't listed). I'll double check tomorrow, but here at home, 4.10 is super. Thanks.

I just added thunar-volman and now 4.10 is working like a charm!
(I do miss screenshooter on my panel though; hopefully it will return)

you don't need to use the panel plugin for screen shooter just create a custom launcher for it on your panel and it still works fine, in fact if you use 'Screenshot' as the name the rest of the launcher gets filled in with the screenshot details including the icon 4.10 seems quite intelligent!

If you recompile screenshooter against the new panel libs it _should_ work.

'Fraid not I get a dialog pop-up with this:
The plugin restarted more than once in the last 60 seconds. If you press Execute the panel will try to restart the plugin otherwise it will be permanently removed from the panel.
When I try to add it to the panel.
