Hi all.
I'm not sure if it's the correct place to post this question, I hope to get answer however.
I'm writing a small program that uses libwnck to manipulate windows, (I will make it public soon, by the way)
and I'm testing some features.
I have a simple test program that set the window geometry (wnck_window_set_geometry) changing position and size.
Whatever geometry I specify (position + size) I get the expected result, for example if I specify a negative (x,y) position the window move out of deskop,
and it's ok.
It works for all applications, all but xfce4-terminal and gnome-terminal.
xfce4-terminal has some tweak in it to adjust its window size based on column/row number but I don't think
it matters.
With these application, the window get stuck to the border of the desktop.
More, if there is a panel (on top for example) the window get stuck to the panel.
This happen on Ubuntu 11.10, xfwm4 4.8.2 (revision ee3f708).
On Debian squeeze (stable, so old version) I get the "same other windows" behaviour.
[ On other WM (Unity) every window get stuck to the border, and it's fine because it's consistent ]
Now, I'm not saying it's a bug or something, simply I wonder why terminals on Xfwm behave
differently than other windows, or if I missing something.
Thanks in advance.
P.S: It's not a matter of WM configuration or tweaks.
P.S.2: I can make a short desktop recording if the explanation is not clear.
