Power Manager Icon / Notification (Problems?)

I've had this issue in the past with 11.04. Currently running 12.04, and everything works well as far as I've tested, except for the power manager notifications and icon in the tray.

The problem is that while charging, the icon frequently, at least once a minute, "refreshes." By "refreshes," I mean that it acts like it may be crashing and re-starting. It will disappear from the tray, then reappear as fully charged for an instant, then resums charging. Currently, after just plugging back it it popped up at least 8 times in a row (I lost count; it was happen too quickly).

So, my question is if power manager is actually crashing, and what logs can I check to see power manager's activity?

Thanks in advance,
JW

Edit for clarification: I'm running xubuntu 12.04 currently if that was confusing.

Re: Power Manager Icon / Notification (Problems?)

Have a look at ~/.xsession-errors for clues.

Re: Power Manager Icon / Notification (Problems?)

Anyone else has this problem? I have the same problem and I'd like to know how to look at ~/.xsession-errors. Is this just like checking the files or something else?

I've googled this problem too and it would be helpful to know if you have it on clean install of xubuntu 12.04 or not. I have installed it on my ubuntu 12.04. The link is http://askubuntu.com/questions/129671/x … n-on-12-04
