Hi guys,
I'm running remote desktop
xfce 4.8
xrdp 0.5.0
Linux Debian 3.1.10-kirkwood #1 PREEMPT Tue Apr 3 15:49:44 PDT 2012 armv5tel GNU/Linux
Midori crashes from time to time, so I want to try iceweasel:
apt-get install iceweasel
It does not seem to start with an xfce launcher. Just silently exited! Is there any other package I need to install also?
TIA

Try invoking it from a terminal, using the same command line as the launcher does. That will let you see any error messages.

Any advice in this post is worth exactly what you paid for it.

Sideburns,
Thanks for your response! Here is the output:
Xlib: extension "RANDR" missing on display ":10.0".
Segmentation fault
Midori launched fine, and everything was great until I go to certain websites to test it, e.g. CNN.com and it crashed. So I wanted to try iceweasel to see if it gets any better.
Thanks for any pointers,

Seriously, why can't apps show errors with an error message?

Yeah, I 've tried running iceweasel in safe mode, too. Same segfault. Googled it and got nothing recent. I went back to Midori. It crashed once in a while, but better than not running at all :-)

You could try with Chrome.

Secipolla, thanks for your response! unfortunately I'm using Debian Wheezy 3.1.x and Chrome is not yet available. I'll keep that in mind and try that in the future.

Go to www.google.com and click on the link to install Chrome, then download the deb package it will offer you. When it's installed it sets up its repository automatically so you receive updates for it.
