How to install XFCE

I would like to install XFCE on my RHEL 6 box, but when I went to the web site all I saw were ISO files and talk about creating a bootable disk.  I don't want to install an OS - I just want a new desktop. 

How can I go about installing XFCE with out creating a bootable disk and all.  I've tried to use yum  - but no dice.

Xfce is NOT Xubuntu. Bugs in Xubuntu don't mean that Xfce is buggy ...

I went to the post and tried and tried to install xfce - with no success.  I found the rpm repo and downloaded a dozen or more rpms, but there were so many dependency problems - I never could find some of the packages that seems to be needed.  I waited for one of the YUM depostories to register/log me in - but it never came up.  A few links no longer work.  One repo link was no confusing - there was no help at all and just an endless list of packages - but not a clue how to use them.

I am at wits end and very frustrated.  I am fairly new to Linux and to the who repo/rpm/depo/git thing.

Please, someone, help out and post a yum/rpm/git command that will download and install XFCE.

You need to enable the repository, then Xfce will be available from the package manager.
Install the epel-release package from http://epel.gtdinternet.com/6/i386/repo … lease.html

Thanks. but I really don't know how to enable the repository.  I went to Epel and found it confusing not at all clear what I was supposed to do.  Could you break it down for a newbie?

You install that package and that will enable the repository for you.*
(FYI, the repository files are in /etc/yum.repos.d)
Then to install it all, try
# yum groups install Xfce

* if packagekit doesn't install it automatically for you, open a terminal where you downloaded the package, login as root and run
yum localinstall epel-release<press tab for auto-completion>
