[Solved] xfdesktop to use other file manager than thunar - is that possible?

hello everybody,
well, there it is.

i want xfdesktop to use another file manager to open folders/drives/devices.
is that possible? i saw a thread that says xfdesktop uses dbus to call thunar - i have a faint inkling of what dbus is/does but how can i change this?

well thanks for reading and any advice.

ps: in this: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2034251 thread i'm trying to tackle the problem from the other end.

Settings->Preferred Applications->Utilities Tab. Then choose your file manager.

[If your alternative file manager is nautilus you will need to launch it with the --no-desktop switch to avoid it also taking over your desktop. There may be similar gotchas with other file managers.]

thanks, but it has no effect on xfdesktop. it has an effect, for example, in transmission, right-click, "Open Folder". these kind of things. but not xfdesktop itself. i thought it's hard-coded but i read this thing on this very forum which said sth about xfce specifications and d-bus. here: http://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=6246

xfdesktop 4.10 will use the default file manager you set in the Xfce preferences, previous versions don't respect this setting.
