(Solved)What is the command line I need write to halt GUI in Xfce?

Hi

I have install in my computer the distro Debian with Xfce.

Those steps I am following to make update through command line.

1. Ctrl+Alt+F1

2. root

Password:

3. Now what is the command line I need write to halt GUI in Xfce?

4. aptitude update

5. aptitude safe-upgrade

The commando line to halt  Gnome GUI is

/etc/init.d/gdm3 stop

May anyone help me?

What's the DM, lightdm?
Try
service lightdm stop

But better is before you ctrl+alt+f1 you logout of Xfce.
