[Solved] Regular ASCII letter keys produce numbers instead!

Everything is fine for some weeks but then suddenly the keys uiopjklm produce 456*1230 instead! yikes

I don't think this occured when I installed or configured something.

The keys work as normal with LightDM, before I log in to XFCE4.

I'm running Debian Wheezy on a ASUS Eee PC 1000HE.

Running "cat /etc/default/locale":

# File generated by update-locale

Running "setxkbmap -print -verbose 10" as root:

Description: Meta-package for the Xfce Lightweight Desktop Environment
Xfce is a lightweight desktop environment for unix-like operating systems.
It aims to be fast and lightweight, while still being visually appealing and
easy to use. Designed for productivity, it loads and executes applications
 fast, while conserving system resources.
 .
This package is a metapackage; it depends on the core packages of the
Xfce4 desktop environment and recommends some extra Xfce4 packages. If you
intend to use Xfce4 and want the full experience then installing this
package and the packages it Recommends is a great place to start.
If you just want to pick and choose the core components then feel free to
 remove this package.

Re: [Solved] Regular ASCII letter keys produce numbers instead!

As it works in Lightdm I guess something is wrong in Xfce.
Have you chacked Settings>Keyboard?

Maybe delete ~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/keyboards.xml

Re: [Solved] Regular ASCII letter keys produce numbers instead!

It turns out that my num lock break things. I moved the keyboards.xml file to the trash and when doing a diff to the new file, was the only difference num lock = false. I will file a bug report about this.

Thanks a lot for the tip secipolla!
