xfce4-mixer 4.10

As of xfce 4.10 it seems that it is no longer possible to have multiple instances of the mixer applet in the panel at once, and therefore no longer possible to easily control multiple mixer controls without launching the mixer itself.

Does anyone know a good way around this?
