@Nick I do have xfsettingsd running, yet they are still unable to change , is this related to me having nautilus as my default filemanager maybe as a consequence of this I am unable to change my icons, maybe I need to install the entire gnome environment and then change the icons via gnome ????? any suggestions .

I just figured it out since I had my Xfce theme on oxygen-gtk cuz since I like the feel, my icon set just went back to getto gnome icons for some unknown reason, now that I changed it to xfce-kde2 they went back to Faenza but why is that???? Is oxygen-gtk just to cool for Faenza icons or what?

Hi, fresh install of xfce4.10 and i'm having the same problem with all icons that I install. The settings manager can see the icons theme but it not change properly all the icons. For example, the theme elemetary-xfce from shimmerproject, I can see that only few of them change( 1 or 2). Faenza not change at all.
PS: I don't speak very well english, so if I made some errors, please excuse me.
