Hi there,
I accidentally deleted the "vlc" media player from the "Multimedia" menu and now I'm trying to get it back.
Of course, I can create a new entry for vlc (that's my workaround for now), but this creates a seperate .desktop file in my .local/share/applications/ and a single-entry "Multimedia" menu in .config/menus/xfce-applications.menu that seems to be combined with the system-wide menu.
I would prefer re-including the original /usr/share/applications/vlc.desktop for two reasons:
My mime associations are set to vlc.desktop and not to alacarte-made-12.desktop and I do not want to edit them completely. Renaming alacarte-made-12.desktop to vlc.desktop and adjusting the reference in .config/menus/xfce-applications.menu did not work.
I want to learn how the menus work.
However, I did not find any place where the contents of the "Multimedia" menu are listed or where vlc.desktop is excluded.
Can anyone give me some hints where to search ?
Thanks and Regards,
Markus
