Appfinder slow Xfce 4.10

I am trying to use appfinder in place of Gnome-Do however I find it starts up very slowly.

Super+R (for appfinder) or Alt+F2 (for appfinder without options listed, formerly xfrun) both take 4 to 5 seconds to pop up.

How can I speed this up?

Oh, I have the "keep running instance in the background" checked.

I can't help you, because my appfinder starts in less than a second.

There is a comment in the Wiki that using anti-aliasing etc. affects performance see https://wiki.xfce.org/tips under performance tips. I find it is slow the first time and then is better on subsequent use. I guess the fonts etc. are cached.

Thanks, ozjd. I've just tried that. Same lag. Everything else is fast (this is a very very fast system).
