Open applications are not appearing in the panel

Using Xfce first time, I wanted to move the panel at the top to the bottom. I have everything in place, however, the open apps are not appearing on the panel. I'm using Chromium at this moment but it's not represented anywhere in the panel. 

How do I add a plugin so that applications that are open on the desktop appear in the panel?

Make sure you have the Windows Button plugin added to the panel (Right-click the Panel -> Panel -> Add New Items).
