Terminal error

I installed xfce on my chromebook using this guide http://goo.gl/Gw8iW8 and for some reason right now the terminal fails to work, for some reason it just says username@localhost and whenever i try to do anything like cd / and then ls it doesnt show anything, its like im not logged into the system with the terminal.

Everything else works file manager, desktop, etc. No idea how to fix it so please help
