xfce on wheezy cups question

Hello

I have installed xfce on debian wheezy including cups. Cups is working fine, I have set up local network printer correctly as default, and test pages, browser pages, or office pages all print no problem. However one software application  does not see this local/networked printer for print jobs. On previous build of debian squeeze w/ gnome this printer was recognized by this software. Any hints about what customization can be done to allow this software to recognize printers and/or any idea why it recognized printer under gnome?
