How to use function key to toggle enabling/disabling touchpad?

I've successfully binded volume function keys with alsamixer. But, I was unable to bind it to enable/disable touchpad.  My touchpad  Device is SynPS/2 Synaptic. After being able to toggle between them, I would like to set notification which I've failed. It would be helpful if someone will guide me to set notification while there's certain change in sounds, touchpad,etc. I've found that feature while changing brightness level using function key.
