Hello:
I'm on Ubuntu 13.04 running VMWare Workstation 9 for work with many guest OSs - Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, etc. I installed Xbuntu today as a guest VM and I love it! Since VMWare Workstation is a critical application for me, and I've struggled in the past with getting the correct NVidia proprietary driver set so I can use accelerated graphics.
I'm considering installing XBuntu on my laptop and the proprietary NVidia drivers and then VMWare Workstation 9, if it will work.
Has anyone done something similar to this and got it working?
Thanks,
Jim

Hi. Don't forget to backup any needed data. I (Debian netinst for years now ) use to like trying distros out "live" to see if they'd work well with my hardware? XUbuntu can do this according to the download page (near the bottom.) As for VMs should be no problems there either, I used Virtualbox in Ubuntu to run XP for games. Posting your laptop specs could help future results? Best wishes and have fun.
Could need way more info than put to help and conversely.
Photosynthesis to hydrogen? Plus. Kill monopolies?
