[Solved] Keyboard layout lost after suspend

Hi,
in xfce4-power-manager-settings I've set my notebook to suspend when the lid is getting closed. Unfortunately my keyboard layout is lost after I open the lid and wakeup my notebook. Every time I wakeup my device I have to open xfce4-keyboard-settings and change my keyboard to something different and then change it back.
Does anyone have an idea?

Btw: I am using Arch Linux

True, but Arch is using Xfce 4.10, which was released in 2012. Did you try any of the workarounds?

Hmm I don't see any workaround? I only see that it was solved in 2012. The latest stable version of XFCE is from 2012.

Does setting the Use System Defaults flag and reconfiguring the plugin help? In https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=132998 post #8 had to reboot.

Or you can try to build from git where the fix has been applied.

Thank you for your help. It worked!
I set the checkbox "Use system defaults" in xfce4-keyboard-settings, then I added "Keyboard Layouts" to my panel at the top and then I added my layout to it. Now my layout does not getting lost after suspend.

I had this problem several times in different distros - in XFCE xkb applet and keyboard settings are not fully synchronized and to be happy with the same settings one needs to set them the same way... as you did, than problem goes away...

System defaults should be "unchecked" if you want to use different layouts. It helps if one use the same setting globally for all applications - otherwise system will go back to previous settings for other application... and applet and control panel should have the same keyboard, layouts and global settings... It works for me.

LXDE is a bit less  complicated, Gnome and KDE have special control panels.

Same with choosing extra options and versions of keyboards, they can be "accidentally" reversed to default if one of the settings is missed.

I use 3 different layouts all the time and xkb applet is essential in easy access to them. It works well if it has the same settings in keyboard settings as well.
