Hi all,
I have an issue with the list in the Items tab on the panel Preferences dialogue box. The item names don't display correctly, eg "Seperator" will appear against the clock icon and menu icon. The item name will also sometimes change when hovering over it with the mouse as well. I have noticed this on Xubuntu and Ubuntu Studio, checked sums in case of a dodgy download but it was correct. One thing I noticed is that it doesn't appear to be an issue on Mint XFCE.
Just want to know if this is a bug or if there might be an issue with my config.

To test whether this is an issue with your config, create a second account on the problem system and see if you can replicate the problem.
If so, it is some sort of systemic problem.
If not, you can try to reset your panel configs and see if that helps. See http://askubuntu.com/questions/224006/r … t-settings for information on how to reset your panel settings.
I can't find any bug(s) in bugzilla regarding this issue.
Please remember to mark your thread [SOLVED] to make it easier for others to find

I've seen something similar on a 4.11 test on Fedora see http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showpost. … stcount=10
This happens for me on 2 systems but no one else has reported it.

@ozjd yeah that's it. I noticed that while "About XFCE" says it's using 4.10 on Xubuntu and Ubuntu Studio (who I believe use the Xubuntu desktop anyway), I notice that in Synaptic they are using the 4.11 version of xfce4-panel.

I have the same versions reported, xfce4-about says it is 4.10 but the panel and other applications have been updated to 4.11.

@ToZ tried resetting and a new user but still have same problem
@ozjd I notice in Mint XFCE "About XFCE" says it's 4.11, so I don't know if the 4.11 packages fix the problem or if they just did a workaround. I know Mint are quite happy to put devel packages in their releases

Curious....got this message when I tried resetting the panel

pci5@pci5-Intel-Asus:~$ pkill xfconfd
pci5@pci5-Intel-Asus:~$ rm -rf ~/.config/xfce4/panel
pci5@pci5-Intel-Asus:~$ rm -rf ~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-panel.xml

what does respawning too fast mean?
