Greets,
I'm new on the forum, am using XFCE with slackware and have a minor issue with widget placement.
Beacause for my money a 16x9 screen is mostly wasted and because I get more panel room this way I have lately adopted using two vertical panels one on ech side of my desktops and this on all the distros and all the WM's that will let me. So far not a problem with XFCE, I have this set up, the only hickuop is that widgets with text in them show the text on its side parallel to the panel's long edge. I wonder if there's a way to adjust this, if not I'd like to suggest it as a wishlist item for future versions.

Try this: right-click Panel > Panel > Panel Preferences. Use pull-down Mode menu to select "Deskbar," then close.
MX-23 (based on Debian Stable) with our flagship Xfce 4.18.

That did the trick, thanks!
