Change the way Thunar presents file size?

Hello guys,

I've recently noticed that Thunar 1.6.3 doesn't display file size properly. I've made a screenshot to show you what I mean.

As you can see, Thunar shows the file size in decimal prefix (MB), while Terminal shows it in a binary prefix (MiB). Other applications present the file size correctly (MiB). So, I want to know if there's a way to change Thunar's file size presentation?

Unfortunately no. Not unless you want to change and recompile the source code.

This article shows how to create a custom action to display MiB file sizes. Not exactly what you're asking, but probably the best you can get right now.

Or maybe try a new bug report asking for a configuration to allow user's to select which format to use.

I don't think I'll be able to recompile Thunar the way I want. I'll open a bug report as you suggested.

Thanks for the link with the custom action. It partly solves the problem.
