More specifically, I can't get xfce to stop opening the display settings everytime I use the brightness keys. I've been ruining Linux Mint 17 XFCE spin for a few months now and have been quite happy with it. There's just one problem I can quite solve. Whenever I adjust the brightness the display settings pop up and spam my computer. Sometimes I have to shut down entirely because I held the key down for a little to long and the amount of windows freeze up my computer. I can work around it by only pushing the button when I need to and closing the windows that come up. But I shouldn't have to. I've tried going into keyboard settings but it won't let me change anything. Then I tried it as root and when I delete the shortcuts it shows that they're gone but it still does it. It seems like there's no way to get it to do what I want. Does anyone have a fix for this problem?
