Using as remote desktop for VPS

So i am using this for a remote desktop for my VPS which is running Ubuntu. Well after installing i connect with my remote desktop through windows ( the native one) and i get a screen like this

Dont know why its not showing the yellow in the image

Im new to this so im not sure if i did this right anyway
