Default word processor

I am running Xubuntu 14.04, and I have both AbiWord and LibreOffice Writer installed on my desktop PC.

If I double click on a document, it will automatically open with AbiWord, because that is the default word processor.  I want to change that, so that LibreOfficeWriter becomes my default word processor.  that way, when I double click on any text file, it would automatically open up with LibreOffice Writer.

How could I do that?

I like LibreOffice more than AbiWord, and I use LibreOffice Writer more often than AbiWord, but I don't want to uninstall AbiWord.

Re: Default word processor

There are probably other way (it being linux), but you can run Thunar, right-click on one of the files in question, select "Open With Other Application," make sure the box next to "Use as default for this kind of file" is marked, select the application you wish to open that type of file with, and left-click on the Open option.
