Dual monitor unplug is not detected

Hi,

I bought new laptop Dell Latitude E7440. It has Intel i7 and video card Intel HD 4400. Monitor is connected via HDMI. When I work on external monitor only, if I unplug it then desktop is not going back to laptop display (even if I try switch using function key). I must plug it and then switch. For example on my previous laptop (i5, same video card, probably different motherboard) I had Kubuntu 14.04 and it worked fine. Now I have Xubuntu 14.04 and unfortunately I had not occasion to test new laptop on Kubuntu.

Regards

Re: Dual monitor unplug is not detected

I've been on a bit of a udev kick today, so... you can try the udev-based solution from here (see last post for final script versions). I know its in an arch linux forum but the solution should work for other udev-based distros as well.

Re: Dual monitor unplug is not detected

Well, is it also reported in XFCE bugtracker (if udev issue is related to XFCE)? I'm not linux expert - I always mess up something, so I preffer to have it in LTS update, especially that it isn't critical bug for me - I just need to remember to switch display before unplug, that's all
