Aliya Linux http://sourceforge.net/projects/aliyalinux/
I recently tried this almost unknown distro after seeing it mentioned at Softpedia. http://linux.softpedia.com/get/Linux-Di … 3716.shtml
I made the live usb from a windows computer using Rufus. User-live Password live
It uses Xfce with some elements of KDE built in. It uses Kwin as the windows manager, disabling the regular windows manager and windows manager tweaks.
Sound and YouTube work fine. It comes with a Conky and some special effects like wobbly windows turned on, but those can easily be turned off if they are not your thing.
As far as I can tell, this has nothing to do with Aliya Sternstein; the tech writer.
