cursor issues

new to linux.  last night cursor started acting up.  when I boot the system the cursor is not there but I can still click on things.  if I open anything (firefox, file manager, etc) the cursor will flicker and sometimes appear, most of the time disappear, sometimes it's a dotted line, sometimes it's a square.  Been messing around with changing the cursor theme but nothing is helping.

Re: cursor issues

That could be a problem with the video, or with cursor' imagefiles.

So Q: do you update your system after and/or before this happend?

Re: cursor issues

I have been using arch for about two weeks and everything was great til it started bugging out. I update every 2-3 days. If it's cursor image files how would I go about fixing that?
