Parole problems

I have 2 issues with parole media player

1. When I press space button to pause, the window turns black entirely and I don't see still frame. Looks like media format doesn't matter.
2. Open dialog ignores thunar's misc-folders-first setting

Any suggestions how to fix this?
Thank you.

Re: Parole problems

Which version of Parole are you using? The following answers assume the later versions built on gtk3.

1. When I press space button to pause, the window turns black entirely and I don't see still frame. Looks like media format doesn't matter.

Which back-end are you using? I notice that if you enable the clutter back-end, I get the still frame. The other back-ends are hit and miss for me.

2. Open dialog ignores thunar's misc-folders-first setting

For GTK3, you can configure the sort-directories-first setting using the dconf editor and navigating to org>gtk>settings>file-chooser.

Re: Parole problems

I guess abi you are on Vbox machine. if so, you have to set the video output to x11/Xv
Same for VLC or any other video player

Re: Parole problems

1. I didn't notice that my parole was compiled without clutter support. Clutter backend works like a charm.
2. Thank you. I'm new to GTK3 and thought misc-folders-first would work to all xfce goodies :-)
