I have been using Linux Mint Xfce for over a year now and I'm very happy. I'm using an old computer with an AMD Athlon XP chip, and running linux with other desktop environments is a painful affair on this machine, which admittedly is by now an antique. Xfce4 has never given me any problems, and besides, it is getting better. Well done and thank you very much. Light weight is the way forward.

Hi, shelleyfrank, and welcome. I used Xfce on older computers that were sluggish, otherwise. Now that I have an i5 laptop with six gigabytes of RAM... I still use it!
Just out of curiosity, what distro are you using?

I'm using Linux Mint Rebecca 17.1, i.e. the latest stable long term supported version. Everything running smoothly for my purposes at present, and very happy that this old machine is still able to kick butt.
