[Solved] after upgrade to debian 8 choice of resolution impossible

I've just upgraded to debian 8 and everything looked ok until second mass wave of updates came. after that "update of upgrade" I can only use 800x600 resolution. I tried to add resolutions with xrand but failed. Im rather complete ingnorant in that matter so I don't even know what prinscreens would helpful to attach to this call.
will be very grateful if somebody could provide me with some pointers.

regards

ok, the resolution problem solved. I have Asus netbook with Radeon HD 8180 - meaning that nonfree drivers are required for radeon. I just strictly followed guidelines on debian wiki.
