[Solved] thunar-archive-plugin

Hi

I have a problem with thunar-archive-plugin : i have file-roller installed. And the "Extract here" or "Extract To" option in the contextual menu when right clicking is not working. i obtain a message "no archiver found"

Any ideas to solve that ?

Thanks.

Re: [Solved] thunar-archive-plugin

Which distro and which version of Xfce?
Which version of file-roller?
How did you install thunar-archive-plugin?

For file-roller to work as an archive extension, two things need to exist:

1. There should be a "file-roller.tap" file installed on your system with the package that enables file roller to work with this extension. Does this file exist and is it in an accessible location? (mine is in /usr/lib/xfce4/thunar-archive-plugin).

2. There should also be an associated file-roller.desktop file. In later versions, file-roller changed the name of its desktop file and it no longer matches the name of the tap file. Creating a symlink for the tap file to the new name will solve this. Here is the original bug report for this issue.

Edit: Ninja'd.
