i cant change the mouse speed

i have installed xfce in my arch linux.. but one of the problems i came across since that is the mouse speed. Yes, i cant change the mouse speed which is ridiculous.. i do can change the mouse pointer acceleration but not speed. In Mouse and Touchpad setting there is actually no slidebar for mouse speed. but why..? and any alternate method to do that? no luck with xset, xorg and xinput.

I just tried dropping the Acceleration slider all the way to the left. My mouse pointer moved painfully slowly; have you tried that? Incidentally, my version of that dialog box also has a Sensitivity slider underneath the Acceleration one. I'm not sure what the name of the file is or I'd check in Synaptic Package Manager to see if my version is older or newer than yours.

@tvsijin,

That dialog doesn't show all the available properties. Have a read through the online documentation for information on how to find and set the other parameters. Perhaps your mouse requires a tweak to one of these other settings (for example, https://linuxmintuser.wordpress.com/201 … -my-mouse/).

@Cilo,

I think there is only one parameter listed that is acceleration for the mouse.. adding a new entry via editing xml does not make sense..
