MIME types messed up after editing the menu

Yesterday I was playing around with Menulibre to improve my menu entries. After finishing it, I realised that Xarchiver was set to open all my ODF files, my video files were not automatically opened by VLC anymore and the same with my audio files (Clementine was the default player). All of this happened because I've changed the actual program names. I know that I can manually set them back using the MIME Type Editor, but I was wondering if there is way to change names without messing up the MIME types. I'm using Debian 8 + Xfce 4.10. Thanks!
