Hi !
My setup:
#xfce4-about -V
#xfce4-about 4.12.1 (Xfce 4.12)
I `ooo/ OS: Arch Linux
`+oooo: Kernel: x86_64 Linux 3.14.51-1-lts

`/ossssso+/:- -:/+osssso+- GPU: NVS 300
`+sso+:-` `.-/+oso: RAM: 2663MiB / 3902MiB
I have two monitors and and mirror disabled -> desktop enhance -> right monitor is the main screen selected !
Two problems:
a.) Application right click menu on desktop is missing -> but is selected in the desktop preferences -> menu task !
b.) the standard icons (for example the trash) on desktop are not selectable and if i create a new folder on the desktop i see it on two desktops !
I have deleted the ~/.config/xfce4 folder and create new panel and setup etc but the problem is not solved and is still again here :-(
What can I do ?
The same setup with another computer with only one monitor and one desktop -> no problems and works perfect !!
Thanks !
kind regards

Sounds like xfdesktop might not be managing your desktop. Can you confirm what is?
ps -ef | grep -i desktop

Huh. I wondered at the odd ASCII modern art that I couldn't make head or tail out of...

Ah, so that's what it is.
Err... Sorry that I cannot help you with your issue but still decided to post in your thread . But I just saw an example of why folks generally like to see terminal output displayed within CODE tags, lol. Obviously, it makes no functional difference in this particular situation - but if you're ever dealing with an issue in which the original formatting might make a difference in getting help, well....

Your output is missing the user column. Are you running xfdesktop as root while logging in as user?
Try running xfdesktop in debug mode:
xfdesktop -Q
...then:
xfdesktop -e
See what messages you get in the terminal window.

Perhaps there is an issue with your Xfce startup. Can you please try clearing out your sessions cache the manual way:
1. Log out
2. From a text console (Ctrl+Alt+F1), log in
3. Issue the following commands:
cd .cache
rm -rf sessions
4. Go back to your graphic console (normally, Ctrl+Alt+F7)
5. Log in and see if xfdesktop works properly.

Yes. The saved sessions sometimes get corrupted and need to be cleared out.
