[Solved] change default text editor from mousepad to gedit

Xubuntu 14.04 installed. I would rather have gedit as the default text editor. I don't see any GUI item to change that.
Any easy GUI method to accomplish that?
Thanks

View a directory that has a text file in it with Thunar. Right-click the file, Open With / Open with other application... and enable the "default" setting before choosing your editor.

MDM: I am using nemo for the file manager. I will see if this works with nemo. If not, I will just accept that , I can still use gedit.
If that procedure works, I will post back here.
Thanks,

MDM; I did that and it worked like a charm. Thanks again. I am beginning to like Xubuntu/xfce more and more.   big_smile
