Xfce4 on remote terminal with corrupted keymap

I boot my linux as multi-user target without a graphical display in a virtualized environment. From localhost (Mac OS X) I connect with ssh -X to the linux client and launch the applications using the Quartz X11 environment as Windows Manager. The applications run fine accept the context specific menu is sometimes using <ctrl> and sometimes <ctrl>-<command>.

For convenience, I wanted to launch the xfce4-panel. To do so I execute xfce4-session from the command line. I seems to be running fine with the exception that my keymap layout seems to be totally corrupted and the keyboard runs wilde when I press any key.

Any ideas?

Environment:
xfce4-about 4.10.0 (Xfce 4.10)
SMP Debian 4.0.4
XQuartz 2.7.7 (xorg-server 1.15.2) on MacOS X 10.11
