search file on desktop

I have xfce on my arch.
When i am on Desktop and i it a key, the system does nothing.
I remember that if i hit a key and a file on desktop start with this key, the cursor must select this file.
Also if i write the name of a file existing on desktop, the system does not select it.
If i open thunar works.

It's normal?

Thanks

Re: search file on desktop

The xfdesktop doesn't have the type-ahead feature - only Thunar does. Perhaps you were using a different application to manage your desktop before?
