Re: How to make auto login?

Just to clarify things and set expectations, lightdm isn't a part of Xfce. This might not be the right place to ask (unless someone has direct knowledge).

That being said, which distro are you using? Debian has information here while Arch has information here. You should be able to find the resources at your distro's help sites.

This would depend on the display manager (login manager) that you are using.

Xfce is a desktop environment only and starts up after login. So to get the login to be automatic, you need to configure your display manager (login manager). Since you are using lightdm, you need to configure it for auto-login. Have you tried the instructions from this debian wiki page?

Re: How to make auto login?

A web search on "lightdm autologin" works wonders here...

Re: How to make auto login?

The Korora documentation page has an article on autologin in Lightdm. It should work in most (all?) distros. https://kororaproject.org/support/docum … in-lightdm

We have one too, I was just trying to give him the pole rather than the fish, as Thoreau put it.

In MX-15 (about to come out as beta), we now have autologin choice available to the user as a single check box in the User Manager.

Re: How to make auto login?

Hi friends, sorry about bother you all with this....i discovered out whats happening...

xfce was opening the text file with libreoffice...and it was opening the file all wrong, doesnt showing all the lines and EVEN disconfiguring it and messing with the X.

Now i opened the file with "mousepad" and configured it all right!

Thanx for all of you!

Regards.
