VPN Icon Missing / Incorrect Colour on Linux Mint 20

When using the default Theme (Mint-Y) on Linux Mint 20 XFCE the Network Manager icon for a VPN connection is black or wrong because I can ony see a tiny padlock and not a large white on black icon... as shown in the images below.

No VPN - https://ibb.co/30Rndnt

VPN - https://ibb.co/FgJ1LfW

Thanks,

Paully

It looks like that's the icon that comes with the theme. See: https://github.com/linuxmint/mint-y-ico … mbolic.svg.

Thanks for replying.

Ah, well... that's not great is it?!

If I replace that icon with my own, will it be used?

Re: VPN Icon Missing / Incorrect Colour on Linux Mint 20

It should, but make sure that after you change the icon, that you run:

sudo gtk-update-icon-cache /usr/share/icons/Mint-Y

...note that if the icon theme is ever updated, your change will get over-written.

Also, since I don't have a VPN set up, I'm guessing on that icon name. If it doesn't work, you can try some of the other similar-named icons.
